The #1 reason a team has a strong culture with high standards is because the staff clearly and effectively models the standards they want to exist for the culture they want to create. People observe and follow the actions of leaders more than words of leaders. Skin in the game.

HS dugouts should be team-only spaces. Why are parents still bringing snacks and water to their kids in/ at the dugout at this age? Are these deliveries happening to a basketball bench? Football sideline? No. Kids, you want to be recruited so start taking care of your own stuff.

Parents: You’re raising a child, not an athlete. Teach them respect, hard work, how to be a good person. Show them what character & work ethic are. Hold them accountable. Teach them that they won’t ever get what they don’t earn. Strong, well-rounded kids find success much easier!

COACHES: Coaching isn't just a job or paycheck. It’s a 24/7/365 commitment to positively impact people, make a difference, and change lives forever. It's a way of life that leads to improving other lives.

Seniors: You have one season of HS sports remaining. Please don’t take a single opportunity or day for granted. Work hard. Help others. Be present & live in the moment. Cherish your teammates & coaches. Make memories for a lifetime, because the days will come & go all too soon!

“We talk about the will to win. Let's eliminate the will to win and think about the will to prepare to win. Because the preparation is much more important. Everyone wants to win, but not everybody wants to prepare to win." - Bob Knight
