Yes, education for the young is a crucial social investment, but to realize this it also requires income security for the parents. How any children in the world drop out of school because of the sickness of accident of a parent who is not socially insured.

The lessons from this new review of the UK state pension are relevant for many developing countries, not least those with large social pensions and a rapidly ageing population.

The angle on indexation (between inflation and earnings) is particularly interesting.
