Anti-poverty programmes should be seen as basic fiscal prudence. Leaving kids hungry is bad for them but also piles up social costs for the future.

Inequality in the UK is overwhelmingly *within* generations, not between them. .

Not about old vs young/'privileged boomers', but income and wealth inequality.

Yes, education for the young is a crucial social investment, but to realize this it also requires income security for the parents. How any children in the world drop out of school because of the sickness of accident of a parent who is not socially insured.
