LS Lowry’s masterpiece Going to the Match will be on display at Williamson Art Gallery & Birkenhead Priory from 19 April.
The iconic painting will be displayed alongside other loaned works by LS Lowry and a selection from the Williamson’s own collection.
The exhibition runs until 27 July with free entry.

James O'Hanlon No worries. I had a vague memory of seeing Gau's name in my researches. There were other Confederate warships that ended up in South America after the war, as did a number of Confederate Navy officers, including Bulloch himself, for a short time.
But that's another story.
