Only took five years, Black Dog is out today on Invada Records UK - a wonderful label without whom this release wouldn’t have been possible. Huge thanks to them and everybody who helped me make & release it. lnk.to/siMY2p7Z

'The places we are born come back' -- it's been years since I read Everything Under by Daisy Johnson, but these lines have stuck with me and I think about them a lot, ever more so as I get older and feel further away from home. Such a powerful opening
Just finished reading Daisy Johnson's 'Everything Under' and my whole body aches from how profoundly it moved me.
Johnson's story has gotten under my skin so perfectly and made me feel so entirely shaken and uprooted. I can't recommend it enough
'إنَّ كلَّ ذكرياتِنا تُنقَل، وتُستَذكَر، فلا تعودُ مماثلةً لحقيقتِها التي كانت. وذلكَ يُثقِلُني ويؤرّقُني: أنّي لن أتيقَّن أبدًا ممّا حدث'
المَكنُون، ترى النّور أخيرًا ♥️
Thank you, Daisy Johnson
This the second book I have read by Daisy Johnson (after Fen, a collection of her short stories) and what a marvellous writer she is. Maybe it could be described as “modern gothic” but whatever you call it it’s definitely haunting, poetic & I’ll be reading more by her.
Everything Under by Daisy Johnson is dreamy and lyrical and simultaneously bleak and realist. Very well-written, it suited late spring walks along rivers.
