May is Older Californians Month, and I am happy to say #AB2564 is headed to the Senate!

The bill would secure a permanent funding source to help seniors and individuals with a disability pay property taxes through the Property Tax Postponement (PTP) program.

This week, I presented House Resolution 100 on Bike to School Day. It is important to recognize the benefits biking offers. It is great for the environment and helps improve our students’ mental and physical health. I hope all of our students enjoyed biking to school this month!

This legislation would require Medi-Cal Managed Care Plans to reimburse public transit operators for non-medical and non-emergency medical transportation services.

#AB1992 is a direct result of a transportation project that addressed a number of environmental concerns brought up by San Diegans. This bill would authorize the California Coastal Commission to approve blue carbon projects. 🌊

On Friday, I attended the 2024 San Diego #EqualityAwards . This year marks Equality California’s (EQCA) 25th anniversary, and I recognized their Executive Director, Tony Hoang, for the incredible work EQCA has done in advocating for LGBTQ+ civil rights.

Navigating the state's deficit isn't easy, but I want to thank Speaker Robert Rivas, Assembly Approps. Chair Buffy Wicks, & committee staff for doing their part to keep our state afloat. I am happy to announce that these bills are moving forward in the legislative process.

Mission Bay Montessori Academy students visited Sacramento last week. Students attended the Assembly Floor session and toured the Capitol!

The Installation Commanders for Naval Base Coronado, Naval Base San Diego, and Naval Base Point Lomas met with me. I learned how sea level rise is affecting the military installations in our district and the issues they experienced in the January storms.

I participated in Assembly Budget Subcommittee 4 on the Climate Crisis, Resources, Energy, and Transportation. I had the opportunity to question the California Public Utilities Commission on the progress of California’s promise for broadband for all.

Ahead of tomorrow's suspense hearing, I presented #AB2234 & #AB2575 in Assembly Appropriations. #AB2234 will establish an opt-in pilot program on e-bike safety in San Diego County. #AB2575 will create the Office of Broadband & Digital Equity to expand broadband access.
