We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Firefighter Barry Martin. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and friends at this difficult time. Over the weekend, stations across the service will be flying their flags at half-mast in respect of his passing. Scottish Fire and Rescue Service

Firefighters who served alongside Barry Martin were part of his final journey today as a Turntable Ladder was used to carry his coffin. Hundreds of people gathered in Edinburgh to pay their respects as the cortege made its way along the Royal Mile to St Giles’ Cathedral.
