Today (4 May) is Firefighters Memorial Day, when we pay tribute to, and remember, those who have died or been injured whilst serving their communities.

It is also ‘International Firefighters Day’ and in some countries is celebrated as St Florian’s Day.

South Yorkshire Fire kick off a fantastic year of fundraising for The Children's Hospital Charity as Birley Fire Station's Green Watch take on 22-mile loop in full kit & breathing apparatus.

We have not one but two charity car wash events taking place next Saturday (11 May):

▪️Rotherham Station (Fitzwilliam Road, Eastwood, Rotherham, S65 1ST) 10am–4.30pm

▪️Birley Station (Moor Valley, Sheffield, S20 5FA) 10am–4pm

They're both in aid of The Fire Fighters Charity.

We've currently got four fire engines in attendance at a fire in a derelict building near Shalesmoor roundabout in Sheffield.

Avoid the area if you can as there are likely to be traffic delays.
