- Straight-line wind damage in downtown Houston. Winds peaked ~ 100mph.
- Widespread straight-line winds near Baytown/Galena Park area. Wind peaked 90-100mph.

Driving thru Spring Branch. Felled and uprooted trees everywhere. Homes and cars damaged. Street flooding because of debris in sewers. Have NOT heard of any injuries.

This is why power will be out for a week or more in area. Entire transmission lines and towers are down. These fell over I 10 (west of 610 W) stopping traffic all lanes last night.

Matt Lanza 🤌🏼 This is looking towards Bridgeland. I was in the Tomball ISD stadium parking lot on 99/Cypress Rosehill and could see the tornado. I caught the last of the funnel cloud before it disappeared behind the trees and saw the power flashes. This was at 5:53.

On last nights storm… Harris County Meteorologist Jeff Lindner says the highest recorded wind speed that he is aware of was 78 mph at Interstate 10 and the San Jacinto River.

Entergy Texas says it has restored power to 66% of customers impacted by severe thunderstorms that moved through the region Thursday. As of 9:30 a.m., approximately 14,800 customers are without power, down from the peak of approximately 44,500 at 8 p.m. on Thursday.
