What a way to mark it as the Regimental Sergeant Major for our Colonel in Chief HM Queen Camilla's first visit & I was immensely proud of how our people worked tirelessly to demonstrate the Regiment's esprit de Corp. #DeathOrGlory

The Buchan medal is given to officers or soldiers from The Royal Lancers who have contributed to the efficiency or military honour of the Regiment over a prolonged period.

It was with great pleasure to meet Her Majesty The Queen Camilla as our new Colonel in Chief.

HM & the Lancers share long history dating back to WW2. Her father served with the 12th Lancers winning two Military Crosses during the retreat to Dunkirk (1940) & at El Alamein (1942).

Honoured to have been charged to Command The Royal Lancers Guidon for His Majesty the King’s #Coronation Parade.

I felt the responsibility and pride of the occasion that was proportionate to opportunity.

Long live the King.
