Last night, the Northern Lights danced across UK skies.

The Nestbox is open for business at RSPB Leighton Moss. Whilst we get some work done in the cafe you can grab a drink and a snack at the new hut, christened the Nestbox. We're running a slightly reduced menu, there's still plenty of choice and the same top team serving you.

Have you planned your day today? Yesterday was fantastic. Brilliant Black-tailed godwits at Jackson, Coot nest building, Lapwing displaying, Reed and Sedge warbler singing, thousands of Sand martins including feeding close at Grisedale. Today looks better so come and join us 👍

Another big tide today means the car park for the Eric Morecambe and Allen hides is still closed. We hope to open it at some point later today, or tomorrow if water levels remain high.

For your safety, the Allen & Eric Morecambe carpark will close tomorrow. There is a low-pressure with an extremely high tide. The car park is likely to flood. We apologise for any inconvenience. Watch out for updates & we’ll let you know when it’s back open. Pics from yesterday
