Great excitement at #ForestSchool today when the children spotted an amazing insect-it was a beautiful male stag beetle! We watched as he travelled to our woodpile. Amazing for us all to see! Added our find to People's Trust for Endangered Species Muddy Faces Sussed in the Forest RSPB
At Forest School, we saw the sad sight of two deceased baby pigeons, after a good old poke about with some sticks, we thought that they had fallen out of their nests, or nest had been predated by a larger bird. Circle of life, such a life lesson!! Muddy Faces Sussed in the Forest
Today was a great day for planting out our sweet peas that we had sown into cells three weeks ago. We are looking forward to seeing them grow and see what beautiful colours the flowers are! RHS Campaign for School Gardening Sussed in the Forest
We are joining RHS Campaign for School Gardening and RHS Community Gardening sowing seeds in planters and in our allotment, including Cosmos and Artichoke. We are looking at reducing our water use, by collecting water and planting drought tolerant seeds 🌱🌸🌻😍 #GrowWithIt
The planting this week is the peas going in, peas are so good to sow, they are large enough for the children to easily hold, they grow fast and are so sweet and tasty straight out the pod! RHS Campaign for School Gardening Sussed in the Forest
Today at #ForestSchool the children were concerned to find a large bee upside down. We talked about how we could help, so I popped it on hawthorn blossom where he took some pollen and flew away. So important to show children care for insects. Sussed in the Forest Bumblebee Conservation Trust
We have began sowing our super seeds from the RHS Community Gardening #growwithit program. We sowed cosmos in our wild flower bed and watered using rain water collected in our large tray. We are excited to sow the rest in our allotment RHS Campaign for School Gardening Sussed in the Forest
Hopefully some of our families got over today to see the Wilder Lymington event and spot our bunting! The flags were created by the holiday club children during Easter and lots of schools added theirs. Great to be involved with such a super community event Gill Hickman Sarah Fawkes
This week we have been busy sowing out our Radish seeds, using a dibber to make a nice hole and carefully dropping in the seed. The children are looking forward to seeing them grow and sampling them! RHS Campaign for School Gardening Sussed in the Forest #allotment #earlyyearsgardening
We have our family of sparrows nesting every year and it’s such a treat for the children to watch. Food, water and shelter, brings them every time 😍 BBC Springwatch Sussed in the Forest RSPB Learning SaveOurSparrows
The children were excited to see not one but two tractors on our walk to the park today!!And it was amazing to hear and see all the Crows cawing in the rotivated soil! I have never seen so many at one time! What a great sight to see. RSPB Learning Sussed in the Forest #milfordonsea
We have been sowing our Sunflower seeds this week, donated by NewForest Transition to take home and to plant outside for the pollinators in our front area. We have also began sowing sweet peas, radish and peas into our allotment Sussed in the Forest RHS Campaign for School Gardening
At the weekend we had some fresh rhubarb from the Pennington allotment, and the children were keen to help slice and prepare the crumble top! We ate some for afternoon snack. They learnt to recognise rhubarb sticks and the leaf, delicious! Thank you Gill Hickman Sussed in the Forest
Lots of #ForestSchool mud action today, lovely to see the older children cooking from a fire they built and lit, and cooking up treats in the mud kitchen, and trying out muddy moves across a puddle! Muddy Faces Sussed in the Forest
The joy of mud has been evident this week at Forest School! The children have been developing those physical skills whilst balancing around the huge puddles, using mud kitchen equipment to pour, making creations such as rivers or a dam!
Mud make’s children happy! Muddy Faces
Beautiful Spring flower art created today with Daffodils and Tulips from our allotment. Using a fork gave the Tulips lovely petals and bees were drawn having spotted a few collecting the pollen. Sussed in the Forest RHS Campaign for School Gardening
We had so much fun sharing our books and enjoying a tiger who came to tea party today! World Book Day UK 📚 #earlyyears
