What’s in a name?
Every fire season, Ontario Forest Fires shares updates on active fires with different names. These names indicate the location and number of fires in the area.
Example: SUD017 is the 17th reported fire in Sudbury of that fire season.

If burning wood, brush and leaves, the fire must not be ignited sooner than two hours before sunset. It should also be extinguished no later than two hours after sunrise.
