We had two inspirational authors who visited the children this week Morag and Michelle. The children were really interested as Michelle was an ex pupil #LiteracyWeek2024 ES Literacy Right To Read Initiative

Personal target for whole school to get excited about reading .... with our library visits, book swap, book mark, find out the teachers' fav book & unusual places to read competitions & shared reading there certainly has been a buzz about reading Glasgow's Improvement Challenge

In a family of girls I have learned from my Mum, my older sisters, Susanne, Katie and Tracy and my younger sister Claire O'Hara #Blessed #International_Womens_Day

What kind of pedagogy levels the playing field in terms of equity & achievement... SSP. This P1 is able to write & read her own story independently, managing to write that her boat tipped over 🌟 #AllLearnersAllAchieving ⁦Darren Leslie⁩ ⁦Debbie Hepplewhite⁩ ⁦ES Literacy⁩

So these P1s all had the same picture as a stimulus for their writing they wrote independently different stories .... this is the power of systematic synthetic phonics ⁦Anne Glennie⁩ ⁦Helen MacKinven⁩
