This suggests society has rewarded adults who behaved aggressively as children. Are there also generational effects? Will children born in 2000 be similarly rewarded?

This is a good read, giving balance to usual grey depictions of GDR. Still, I was surprised by its underplay of the role of the Stasi and the iniquity of drugs in GDR sport.
