If you are cultivating food in a good way that still requires tractors, constant inputs of plastics, and loads of fossil fuels you are not doing “agroecology”, “regenerative farming”, or “stewarding the land”.

You are just being less destructive.

Lots to say about this soon. Tempting to push back but IMO it's basically true. The real 'you' to take note isn't growers but those relying on the shops, mainstream food system & low food prices: not sustainable so be afraid... (Livestock are great substitutes for FFs, tho'!)

Kudos to The Guardian for publishing this piece - and to the Students Columbia University for a measured, emotionally literate, thoughtful, intelligent piece. I hope the world listens
