The boss of P&O Ferries has written to MPs on Business and Trade Committee to correct the evidence he gave yesterday.

Peter Hebblethwaite’s letter suggests he is concerned he may have mislead parliament.

P&O’s boss now admits some crew earn as little as £4.87 per hour. 2 years ago, he told MPs minimum hourly rate was £5.15.

2 months ago, when ITV/Guardian told P&O we’d seen evidence hourly rate was as low as £4.87, P&O said “we don’t recognise the pay rates you are referencing.”

.Rishi Sunak promised that Euston would be privately financed & HS2 savings would be invested across the country.

Now we know it’s costing the taxpayer another £1bn.

He needs to come clean - where is the money coming from & how much more will it cost?

Nearly an hour of evidence from Peter Hebblethwaite and it’s clear P&O have learned no lessons.

It is an affront to P&O staff that he is still in post.

I marched against Thatcher’s anti-gay hate laws in the 1980s.

I voted for Equal Marriage as an MP.

I've now got a ring on my finger.

Never let people tell you politics can't make a difference.

The Seafarers’ Charter isn't worth the paper it's written on if law breaking companies can sign up.

If the Government is serious about improving conditions for our seafarers they should hold P&O to account properly.

Hebblethwaite keeps repeating that P&O seafarers have working conditions which are second to none.

Galling given 800 of those seafarers were forcibly removed from their place of work and illegally sacked - and P&O has faced no sanctions.
