The idea “every aspect of the support for disabled people” must “help people get into work” is deeply grim from Labour. Benefits and the NHS don’t exist to turn disabled people into economic productively units. They are to help us live well. inews.co.uk/news/politics/…

We are deeply concerned to learn that one of Gaza's most senior orthopedic surgeons, Dr Adnan Al Bursh, has died while detained in an Israeli prison.

His death must be urgently investigated, amid reports of torture, ill treatment and medical neglect of Palestinian detainees.

Great review in LSE Review of Books of Shabna Begum Sylhet to Spitalfields: 'Begum’s rich combination of ethnographic work and historical analysis reveals how, through squatting, activism and community organising, Bangladeshi migrants successfully demanded their right to housing.'
