Following last week’s Petitions Committee meeting, the Scottish Government has announced that it will be launching a consultation on SLAPPs - a big and welcome shift in government policy in response to Roger Mullin’s petition, and the submissions supporting it.

The Scottish goverment has indicated that they will launch a consultation on #SLAPPs in Autumn. This is a very welcome development in response to Roger Mullin petition and the submission made in support by the Anti-SLAPP Hub Aberdeen Law School and others.

The Scottish Parliament Petitions Committee considered Roger Mullin’s anti-SLAPP petition earlier today. It was a genuine pleasure to engage in in-depth discussion with lawmakers about the need for anti-SLAPP laws, and routes to enactment.
