Why are you all acting so *shocked* that Kristi Noem shoots animals dead?

Yes, shooting your pet is disturbing behavior. But I think shooting a bear dead just for the thrill of killing it—and to get a pic for Instagram—is also loathsome.

I rather immodestly nominate as a competitor this excerpt from my book, Who's Counting. It is also about the Monty Hall problem and its variants, including an application to Covid precautions: books.google.com.mx/books?id=G1V-E…

A wise piece by Sapiens author Yuval Noah Harari: From Gaza to Iran, the Netanyahu gov't is endangering Israel's survival. '... we have become so similar to Samson in so many ways – the hubris, the blindness, the vengeance, the suicide ...' haaretz.com/israel-news/20…

A brilliant response by Timothy Snyder to Marjorie Taylor Greene’s accusation of Nazis in Ukraine. As a leading scholar on the subject of nationalism, Snyder makes three points:

Just saw Woody Allen's new movie, Coup de Chance. Very enjoyable, very well done with some of his recognizable themes - love and murder, the role of chance, Parisian charm, pretentiousness. Loved it. May be his last film. A shame he can't get funding in this country.
