In 42 RCTs, containing 5220 participants, the BGBTs with the largest numbers of trials, and patients, demonstrating efficacy for abdominal pain, included self-guided/minimal contact CBT, face-to-face multicomponent behavioural therapy, and face-to-face gut-directed hypnotherapy.

There is scientific evidence for a possible correlation between #gutmicrobiome alterations, #Autism Spectrum Disorders and #ADHD . But does it demonstrate a causal role of the microbiome in these developmental disorders? (1/3)

Bottom line: gastropsychologists can be helpful in managing symptoms and psychological drivers of symptoms (e.g. visceral anxiety) regardless of underlying etiology!
