Strong evidence on behavioural hazards @ QJE : 'Contrary to the predictions of standard economic models, high-risk patients cut back more on exactly those drugs that would benefit them the most ...cost-sharing is itself highly inefficient'

'At least 4 women being held' at risk of deportation to Rwanda.
Hello! Feminists! Do you support this? Most refugee women are survivors of sexual violence inc rape in conflict.
Note: If your feminism is only for women like you, it's not really feminism. theguardian.com/uk-news/articl…

Amazing ⁦Soumaya Keynes⁩ in this ⁦Financial Times⁩ piece! 👉 “I am asking for titles that reveal the question or the result. Too many have the format “thing, thing and thing”. Unless one of those things is “sex”, “drugs” or “rock ‘n’ roll”, try again.” 🙌

Great points on freedom by Joseph E. Stiglitz freedom cannot be the excuse to weaken the weakest: “Freedom for the wolves has often meant death to the sheep.” (Isaiah Berlin) '‘Freedom for the gun owners has often meant death to schoolchildren and adults killed in mass shootings.’

New field experiment:

When people could earn a reward each time they went to the gym *with a friend*, this led to 35% more frequent gym visits than those who could earn the same reward for each visit as an individual (standard incentive).

Are immigrants more innovative?

Yup.

Immigrants tend to 1.) make up a higher share of business owners and 2.) operate more innovative and productive firms.

This 'implies [immigrants make] large contributions to U.S. innovation and growth.'

An interesting study that shows that 'social values diverge globally but converge regionally' 'values emphasizing tolerance and self-expression have diverged most sharply, especially between high-income Western countries and the rest of the world'

How many people go to church weekly?

Surveys say it's about 1 in 5 Americans.

Cell phone tracker data say it's actually closer to 1 in 20 Americans.

Fascinating new working paper!
