Our housing work is getting more national recognition. By producing more housing supply and record amounts of affordable housing we are leading the way to keep rents down.

That’s right, we’ve been able to keep the rents down in MPLS due to our continued investment in additional housing supply. Especially affordable housing… which we’re building at record pace.

Electrifying transportation and moving to clean energy sources will be crucial to preventing climate catastrophe.
That’s why I’m thrilled that our all-electric, municipally-owned (with St. Paul) car share program has hit a new milestone. startribune.com/electric-car-s…

We finally have City Council approval for a site and can move forward, together. The work now begins to build a new 3rd precinct and establish a safety center with comprehensive services. startribune.com/minneapolis-ci…

I’m proud to stand alongside local members of the United Auto Workers union as they fight for the wages, treatment, and respect that they deserve. Our workers continue to show up for our nation’s three big automakers — it’s time they show up for them. UAW

Appalling. This is erasure of innocent, murdered Israelis, and the genocide against Jews for millennia. Critique of Israel’s ruling coalition policies is fair game, but this attempt to ignore atrocities against Jews, days ago and historically, will let history repeat itself.

The City Council has ruled out 2 of the 3 options for the 3rd precinct site. It’s time for them to authorize moving forward with the remaining viable option — one where we can also pilot a comprehensive safety center.

A thoughtful, well-written piece. The reason I do not support unchecked encampments isn’t because of “corporate business interests” — I oppose them because they are easy targets for predatory fentanyl dealers and human traffickers. startribune.com/hard-facts-on-…

Someone recently found this photo of the very first time I (second to the left) came to Minneapolis — the 2006 Twin Cities Marathon. Best of luck to all the runners this weekend — I hope some of you who are visiting for the first time fall as hard for this city as I did.

The new public housing that we celebrated yesterday was only possible because of the 2040 zoning reforms. We are going to keep fighting for those reforms — in the courts and at the legislature.

Yesterday we announced that we’re transferring land to Red Lake Nation. AND, they will be using the land to build a culturally specific opioid treatment center that will help turn talk about injustice into action.

We’re transferring land to Red Lake Nation to build a future opioid treatment center — with culturally specific services for the Native community. Our partnership will take us beyond acknowledging injustices and deliver action to remedy them. startribune.com/minneapolis-an…

Chief Judge Barnette knows the ins-and-outs of our public safety system better than anyone. His ties to Minneapolis and his experience make him well-positioned to deliver results for our city. startribune.com/hennepin-chief…

NIMBYs cloaked as environmentalists will continue to use frivolous litigation to uphold the status quo of exclusionary housing policies. They'll perpetuate racial disparities & limit our ability to address climate change.

Let's stop this charade with action next session.
