Today, we are very hopeful about the future of Integrated Education in Northern Ireland. With special thanks to member of House of Lords, Baroness Ritchie, NI’s Shadow Secretary of State, Hilary Benn, and Shadow Minister for NI, Fleur Anderson, for taking the time to meet with us

she also said on the importance of collaborative and thoughtful efforts to promote mixing within schools, she outlines a vision of a system where students interact throughout their entire education journey, not just when leaving school.

Peter Osbourne speaks on the importance of working based on facts rather than perceptions. Peter said that parental preference is key and to give parents the choice to vote on whether their schools should integrate over the next 25 years.

Dr Matt O'Neil speaks on the need for collaboration and a cross-government department in education to address the lack of voice for some communities. We need to have that ability to engage.

Dr. Bloomer raises the importance of children learning together and supporting parental choice in education. He calls for a thorough review of Northern Ireland's schooling system by an independent commission due to challenges in creating new schools.

Chair Dr. Matt O'Neill said pupils who attend integrated schools are much more likely to integrate well into society... Integrated education is not simply a name or a buzzword. Students and teachers work hard every day in ways that deserve full acknowledgment.

Today we make our voices heard on how we think there are benefits to integrated education and share our own experiences of going through the school system. Our core points:

Full funding for integrated schools
Dedicated DfE taskforce
Parental info campaign on school options

The Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, said that “integrated education should be the norm, not the exception”, I could not agree more.

Speaking today on the indefensible sneaking out of a cut to long agreed shared and integrated education projects, including two in South Belfast (full disclosure, I'm parent at one).

It is deeply troubling that Executive parties appear to have been asleep while this happened.

Tomorrow is a big day, with recent announcements its critical that Chris Heaton-Harris MP urgently reviews the decision on Fresh Start. To have an inquiry into Integrated Education and then remove the money to support much needed investment is short sighted at best, the UK Gov needs to act

My urgent oral question to Ed Minister on loss of funding to 10 Integrated Schools not accepted by Speaker. I have submitted as a priority written question today to ensure the Minister is held accountable on this issue. Alliance Party will continue to fight for these schools
