Unbelievable that Supreme Court justices who see forgiving student loans, mandating vaccines, and regulating climate change as a slippery slope toward tyranny were not clear-eyed on questions of whether a president could execute citizens or stage a coup without being prosecuted.

He was the best Holmes. He trumped everyone who came before him, and everyone who has played the role since has done so in his shadow. There is no possible counter-argument. That's it, the end.

The GOAT of Midwestern bank robbery notes:

1. neat Middle School penmanship, with cheery little circles over each 'i' & superfluous exclamation points!!

2. attempt to legitimize the robbery to the teller, as if to say 'I'm actually a fair & reasonable bank robber'

A pilot in Vancouver that provided unconditional cash to homeless people not only saved more money than it cost, it also reduced drug and alcohol use by 39%. In the India UBI pilot, where entire villages got UBI, drug and alcohol use went down by 12% compared to control villages.

Ooooh...this is a major escalation. Whenever authorities start punishing family members of mob bosses & autocrats, then 💩 is getting real. The inner circle has been breached. Seizing the wealth of Putin's ex-wife is second only to seizing Putin's own assets. Makes him look weak.

OK, I'm doing it:consulting Bryan A. Garner's 'Modern American Usage,' bc I can't decide whether 'wracked by poverty' or 'racked by poverty' is correct. Seems like both could work, since wracked=destroyed or wrecked & racked=tortured or oppressed.
Arthur Goldwag? Peter Sokolowski?

The rest of us pay the price in the form of higher taxes & borrowing costs.

I did not feel Armageddon in my bones but I worried about all those people who did, who were ready for it, wishing hard, making phone calls and bank withdrawals. If enough people want it to happen, will it happen? How many people are enough people?
