Thanks a lot for this post, I feel honored!! 🙏 ❤️ DH is a passion that comes up in my work again and again. Nowadays mostly triggered by great young researchers, who are passionate of DH. It's great to work with them, and to see how much NLP can bring DH further! #womoninDH
This #FemaleFollowFriday , meet Anette Frank, Professor of Computational Linguistics Uni Heidelberg & Leader of Heidelberg University NLP Group, researching discourse-oriented semantics for NLU tasks, especially interested in combining neural machine learning methods w/ linguistic modelling #womeninDH
ACLRollingReview Open Review can we remove the 'reviewer certification' field? i've heard from multiple parties that reviewers have accidentally deanonymized themselves through it
truly cursed timeline 😵💫
ACLRollingReview reviews due Mar 20
Conference on Language Modeling abstract deadline Mar 22
ACLRollingReview reviews released Mar 26
Conference on Language Modeling submission deadline Mar 29
ACLRollingReview rebuttal period closes Mar 30
While I couldn’t join #EACL2024 , Heidelberg University NLP Group was represented, i.a. by Frederick Riemenschneider Frederick Riemenschneider, who won the SIGTYP Shared Task, jointly with Kevin Krahn. Their character-aware hierarchical LM perfectly addresses low-resource Historical Languages. Well done, Frederick 🥳 👏
Tomorrow, with Nicolas Baldwin, we'll be hosting the 'Learn to develop and customize AI workflows with Flows' workshop at the #AMLDEPFL2024 conference! Join us to learn about the new version of aiFlows (github.com/epfl-dlab/aifl…) coming out later today!

Great work! The idea of live evaluation is cool. In our work Flows, led by Martin Josifoski, we also observed a similar trend that there is a performance drop on LeetCode problems released after the models’ training date.

Cool work from our postdoc Debjit Paul at the intersection of NLP and causality! One thing that have me so excited about LLMs is that they allow us to study counterfactuals via simple interventions—rare in the real world, but possible with LLMs,which we can just reset as we wish
