I consider indexing to be both information/knowledge work and a creative process, re-interpreting and restructuring a whole book. Automated indexes are still not very good. Any further thoughts, fellow indexers and Dennis Duncan?

Yesterday I attended Toronto's Word on the Street festival, a celebration of the written word. Happy to see so many people out perusing print copies of #books and listening to #authors speak. Great to have access to some of the small #publishers .

It's always so nice to be acknowledged by my clients! This was a particularly interesting book on Czech literature and a particularly lovely author to work with.

As I embark on the final round of Iliad proofs, I have been warned that I MUST NOT change any more 'perfectly good words'. I have driven everyone crazy with it already. 'Changing perfectly good words' is a wonderful definition of what translators do all day.
