When you've got a tiny <1.5mm adult male spider from soil crevices that's not a Liny, and it happens to have a massive ventral spine on tibia 3, you know it's something rather special...hello Altella lucida!! BAS Cofnod Graeme Lyons

Today involved a trip to #FlanderMoss , no targets as such, just to see what was about....Tibellus oblongus (i think?) was new for me, and was quite happy to have a lens shoved at it! #Spiders BAS

1/2 #speciesaday no. 233 is Hypsosinga albovittata. Nationally Scarce (but seems to be spreading). Medium-small orb weaver, with white mark on cephalothorax. Usually on chalk-grassland, acid-grassland and coastal sites. Common where it's found.

1/2 #speciesaday no. 229 is Xysticus acerbus. Nationally Rare (but should prob. be NS). A very large, leggy, dark crab spider (with tiny paps). Seems to favour chalk-grassland, arable margins and rough ground BAS
