As a mortgage banker, I’ve seen firsthand how crucial regulation is to maintaining a fair and stable financial system. The CFPB was created to address the reckless practices that led to the 2008 crash, protecting consumers and ensuring accountability in the industry.

The @CFPB announced a new rule yesterday that puts a max on the amount that banks can charge on overdraft fees. These fees on average are $35 a day which seems minimal at first, but can spiral quickly over just a few days. The rule may save Americans around $5 billion a year.

With the increased work requirements and all the new paperwork, SNAP is going to be MORE costly for South Carolina to administer and increase the deficit. Please vote no to the current spending bill Rep. Ralph Norman.
