Informative Tom Mooney piece today about what comes next after the US Attorney's broadside against DCYF

'Cunha’s findings were anything but new to those familiar with [DCYF] ... Also not new were some of the remedial steps Cunha offered for the state' providencejournal.com/story/news/cri…

NEW: Advocates for Better Care in Rhode Island (ABC-RI) are advocating for legislation that would require long-term care facilities to allow residents to have a security camera in their room. The organization's Director Kathleen Gerard joins me on today's Bartholomewtown

BREAKING: Inside McKee's 11th hour pitch to keep Citizens Bank - and its jobs - in RI. Here's the proposed tax deal & request to buy a Citizens' owned bldg in EProv for up to $44.5M including borrowing costs:

The context: Massachusetts has already enacted 'single sales' tax policy for banks - takes effect Jan. 1

So RI now faces a decision point on whether to match MA or roll the dice to see if Citizens (and other banks) will actually move operations across the border to save money

CASTING CALL!

Looking for actors, dancers, and/or models (18-29) to portray WWI-era sailors. The roles are silent and movement based. Filming happens later this month in Newport, RI. Locals preferred but housing may be available for certain performers. (1/4)

During the floor debate, it was described as anything that was not a criminal offense. That would be the vast majority of police misconduct cases. This language is in direct conflict with @peterneronha’s policy that BWC videos are public under APRA. (2/2)

The LEOBOR bill that passed the House last week has language in it that would prevent the release of body worn camera video in police misconduct cases. If passed, it would prohibit the release of 'minor' infractions. But does not define what that is. (1/2)

You might ask yourself- 'Why's the Woonasquatucket River Green?' The City of Providence is performing dye tests to better understand where storm-water systems connect to the river. It’s a non-toxic tracing dye which will flush out and dilute very quickly.

Body cam footage could be harder to get with the 'LEOBOR' reform bill headed for final vote. Why advocates aren't happy about it. And why legislative leaders are standing pat:

One of the reasons I love my job so much is that I get to explore and discuss things like Rhode Island's traditional financial town meeting and then try to link them to modern practices like participatory budgeting. providencejournal.com/story/news/pol…
