I think this tiny insect might be a Dark Bush-cricket nymph feeding on a Red Campion leaf in a Pembrokeshire hedgerow. If I hadn't paused to photograph the bloom I would not have seen it.

The sunshine brought out the insects this week. I think these are Honey bees, Apis mellifera on Cherry Plum, Prunus cerasifera in a Monmouth hedgerow. Happy to be advised differently.

I paused to inspect the developing gall of the Phytoptus avellanae mite on a Hazel shrub near Monmouth. Only when I got home did I realise a spiderling ( probably some kind of Orb-weaver) had got there before me!

Fortunately a tiny dot on a Primrose leaf caught my eye as it turned out to be the 24 Spot Ladybird, Subcoccinella vigintiquattuorpunctata. Widespread apparently but not necessarily common. The adult is 3-4 mm long. Monmouth Cemetery.

Scarlet Elf Cups, Sarcoscypha austriaca on the wooded bank of the Wye near Monmouth. These have probably been nibbled by rodents or slugs.

The developing bud galls of the mite Phytoptus avellanae on Hazel, Corylus avellana. I noticed these while I was looking for, and finding, the red styles of the female catkins. Wye Valley woodland near Monmouth.

The reddish leaf-roll galls of the nymph of the bug Trioza centranthi on leaves of Red Valerian, Centranthus ruber. The galls are now frequent in the Monmouth area.

The rhizomorphs of Boot-lace Fungus, Armillaria mellea, I think, also known as Honey Fungus. These are below the bark of a fallen tree near Monmouth and presumably spread the fatal infection.

Trying to photograph galls on Red Valerian in wind and rain yesterday I was surprised by this presumed Angle Shades, Phlogophora meticulosa moth caterpillar which appears to have been eating its way across the leaf. Near Monmouth.
