👏 For tremor, my sincere belief that high-quality MRI direct targeting can eliminate awake surg. Yes, rare outliers, but more often see ⬇️ efficacy due to off MRI target from brainshift or misled by intraop findings. Love to see updated randomized trial of intraop MRI vs awake!

Yikes! Unclear how bad the tissue damage is (my understanding is 0.04cc is minimal, but 1cc is more than typically removed), but regardless the communication and regulation issues are problematic. We need to maintain high standards to earn and keep trust in brain research.

#CBENF2024 , leading multiple large scale multi million dollar projects including spinal chord stim, a new stereotactic frame and the MAVEN system able to measure dopamine electrically (60mio USD effort).
