Last week Div 3 University Highlands learned about cyberbullying and what they could do about it. I am always impressed by how media savvy they are! Amanda Coutts
Me too! So proud of University Highlands!
So delighted to read “Aaron Slater, Illustrator” to the Grade 1s and 2s today. They were entranced and I was too! Such a positive message about being smart and creative in your own way. AdaTwistScientist
I just finished “The King of Jam Sandwiches” by Eric Walters and can see why it won the #ggbooks award. Such a powerful story of resilience, I will most definitely be recommending this one to students next year!
Happy #IndigenousPeoplesDay! Thanks Owlkids Publishing and GoodMinds.com for publishing such a respectful and joyful issue about the Haida nation. We will be reading it at my house today to celebrate! 🧡
Inventory done and everything shelved for the summer. See you in September University Highlands!
I read “Ravi’s Roar” by Tom Percival with the Grade 1-3 classes today. We had some great conversations about what makes us feel angry, and how we can channel anger to stand up for ourselves or others. #SEL #zonesofregulation
Story workshop is up and running University Highlands! Division 11, 12 & 18 are exploring what stories live in the loose parts and finding characters, settings, problems & solutions! #storytelling
What an inspiring keynote by David A. Robertson on representation in literature! Excited for the rest of the day at the #BCTLA conference!
Such a fantastic end to the day with Ivan Coyote! “Books are magic, stories are sacred, so libraries full of books and stories are magic and sacred.” Couldn’t agree more! #BCTLA
Inspired by the beautiful sunlight coming into the library University Highlands this morning, our provocation in story workshop this morning was “What stories live in the light and shadows?” #storyworkshop #storystudio Burnaby Schools
You know you’ve got a great new series on your hands when the first student who borrowed Dungeon Club: Roll Call by Molly Knox Ostertag - Updates comes back to the library the next day asking for Book 2! Thanks for the recommendation @irondogbooks!
