This is a really a shameful day. There are worthy debates to be had about how to deal with the opioid crisis (which is killing 20 Cdns a day). We should all want our leaders to disagree without being disagreeable. We, as citizens, deserve better than this.

This is not true. The Speaker asked Mr. Poilievre to withdraw the term for calling the prime minister a wacko, not for calling the policies wacko.

And now CPC leader Pierre Poilievre tossed out of the House for calling PMJT 'wacko prime minister' and not (seeming) to withdraw the remark. (Perhaps a handy diversion from notwithstanding clause remarks.)

The Bloc Quebecois Leader Yves-F. Blanchet 🎗⚜️ congratulates the speaker for his actions. And suggests he'll gladly take the extra questions (from the Conservative leader)

And unfortunately, Speaker Fergus who has no choice in order to maintain decorum in the chamber, has to ask Mr. Poilievre to leave the chamber after he refuses four times (at least?) to withdraw his comments.

The Conservatives will make a ton of money off of this.

As background, Pierre Poilievre, the leader of his Majesty's loyal opposition, just called the Prime Minister a 'wacko.'

Canada's daily QP is unique opportunity to question the government and important accountability session. It would be nice if it could revolve around policy and not turn into a name calling competition. Democracy is fragile. Safeguard it.

Okay, let's try this again. (I've been locked out of Twitter -- again -- for a couple of weeks) but I think this time it was just a technical glitch. I can't say I missed all the nonsense on this channel, but I am glad to be back with the kinder gentler folks here. :)

A disappointing slice of life in the Commons. This is not the way you treat colleagues, even ones you may really dislike…
