A report from Bloomberg shines a light on Peter Thiel’s ‘spy tech’ firm Palantir attempting to secure a further foothold in the NHS by buying smaller competitors, in Emails sent by regional head Louis Mosley from Sept. 2021.

These entities would include those, reports of the Email stated, with an ‘annual revenue of between £5 million and £50 million, and already selling software services to the NHS.’

The firms Palantir had expressed an interest in included Beautiful Information, Sensyne, and Babylon Health, who have featured in previous reporting from The Citizens and Byline Times relating to Palantir’s expansion within the health service:

For their part, Babylon’s relationship with the NHS is now in difficult territory, with the company severing multi-year NHS contracts due to ‘tight’ economics, and shareholders approving a reverse share split aimed at preventing the company delisting on the NY stock exchange:

The interest in Lord Drayson’s former company Sensyne too is questionable, with the company accused of copying and failing to delete pseudonymised patient data, and with 13 NHS trusts who bought shares in the company having been called upon to cut ties:

The report also states Palantir’s intention to ‘encourage government agencies to buy commercial off-the-shelf products, such as Foundry, instead of building their own bespoke tools’.
