This conversation was recorded in February 2023, but so many of its themes feel doubly relevant today.

Many powerful lines in this The New York Times piece on loneliness, but none more than these:
'Walking the path of someone who'd come before made me feel looked after...A spell is cast, converting one person’s nostalgia into another’s newfound sense of belonging.'

‘A difficult situation, plenty of reasons to give up. But if you don’t limit yourself with bad thoughts, you can fly.’

✔ Less depression
✔ Better physical health
✔ A greater desire to leave a legacy

‘We built this club to show that football could and should be done differently.’
This is leadership from Camden and Islington UNITED and an example from the grassroots to the whole game.
They’re living up to their motto and values: 𝙉𝙤𝙩 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙖𝙡𝙡.
Really interesting hearing the Swedish Minister for health speaking about their approach to loneliness inspired by the clear evidence of its health impacts - it is clear that the work that has happened in the UK has led the way globally #NextFiveYears
Collective loneliness is a result of deep-seated economics, cultures and policy choices. It’s a political crisis and not just an emotional crisis. Great to see Vivek Murthy continuing to advocate that ‘love is the foundation of good policy.’

Inspiring to see the ever-brilliant Camden Town, the Camden Highline, Camden Town Unlimited and pitkeathley in the pages of the The New York Times. And so good to see the community heart in the project shine through:

We just had the most incredible time at our first-ever Chop &Chat #SocialClub . It's amazing how a simple gathering can bring together people with such diverse backgrounds &experiences. Here's Neighbours Rich and Stan who's band played alongside Jimi Hendrix!
