The elephant in the room for Africa, tax related illicit financial flows are a neglected area.
I find most disconcerting that apparently the European External Action Service - EEAS 🇪🇺 has been attempting to be even more obstructive in its diplomatic interventions at #FFD than fellow Western countries over at the G7 have been. At least, the G7 have recently noted the #UNTaxConvention in their communiqué.
There is clearly no EU consensus on #UNTaxConvention . Country inputs to the negotiations vary widely (&healthily). & as Markus Meinzer says, EU members joined G7 in noting the importance of the negotiations. So who is driving EU position now to be outright opposition? And why??
