Dawnay has dawned! Delighted that my latest book—The Military Papers & Correspondence of Major General Guy Dawnay, 1915-1919—has been published. I started this project back in 2018 (struggling thru the pandemic years), so it's great to see Dawnay between covers. Relieved & proud.

As Isaac B. Kardon & I show in our recent Foreign Affairs piece, this isn’t altogether true. Yes, there’s a global, asymmetric security competition emerging - but a growing number of countries are pursuing security partnerships w/ both US & China simultaneously.

I also announced the #UK 's endorsement of #Australia 's bid to host #COP31 in partnership with the #Pacific .

From a country that conducts regular military drills, sometimes with foreign partners such as Russia. Whenever Beijing claims it expelled foreign military vessels transiting Taiwan Strait or conducting FONOPs, it's also an exercise of 'method of spiritual victory'. 🙃
