No inicio de Maio os habitantes de Vila Nova de S. Bento #Alentejo fazem altares nas suas casas, revestem-nos de rendas, ramos e flores. No alto do altar fica 1 cruz e 1 imagem do padroeiro, São Bento. As portas ficam abertas para quem quiser visitar, é a Festa das Santas Cruzes.
