Self advocacy is an important part of empowerment, in many settings persons with albinism experience stigma and discrimination and it can be very difficult to voice out opinions, often persons with albinism will need your support to get their voices heard.

Advocacy depends on how important messages are being communicated and heard. However, many people with albinism experience barriers to communication so often that their voices are not heard & they have few opportunities to influence decisions on issues, policies and services. pic.twitter.com/rPvHXTNqPw
Being together helps minimize isolation, increases mutual support and blocks out stigma. Many persons with albinism feel they are the only ones facing certain issues but when they meet others in the similar space, they share problems and find common solutions.
