Autism and ADHD absolutely can be (and are) disabling for many people.

The β€œsuperpower” (etc) things actually will harm ALL Autistic/ADHD folk.

It is exactly what people want us to say, because it means they don’t have to give any support or recognise it as a disability.

Having a stoma is really strange in the sense that you expect something that looks like it does to be really sensitive and painful.
But it literally has no sensation.

I cut it shaving yesterday and the only reason I knew was the bleeding… the stoma itself is totally numb.

13. And finally, though (somehow) my bone density is still normal, it may affect my bone, joint and muscle health as I age.
All of this together means that there is damage that's permanent, but also a lot of uncertainty.

I don't know how it'll affect me as I age.

12. Another thing it's caused is a gap in muscle development.
As we reach adulthood, out muscles are meant to develop and they look significantly different to when you're a teenager.
That hasn't happened with me.

11. It also means (and idk if this is embarrassing) that things don't look like they 'should' for an adult.

Again, doesn't bother me as it's a non-issue, but for someone who is sexually active it could be a massive confidence issue.

Please can people stop this binary 'Autistic people don't struggle, it's just because society isn't accessible' stuff?

It's a hugely harmful assumption and binary viewpoint... actually it's insulting to Autistic folk whose issues/struggles are inherent and exclusive of society.
