everyone started cheering, i started crying, it was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen. certainly not the best photo you’ll see today but i fulfilled a lifelong dream :)

We had talented people. Like me, many got out before it got us. Others held on as long as they could. I hope the best for these folks. I hope young journalists just finding their way keep sharing great stories, and keep readers informed. If not newspapers, who?

Today is a sad day. Newspapers that I poured so much of myself into, the Hutchinson Leader and Chaska Herald /Chanhassen Villager will be no more later this month. These papers were staples of the community, and the readers they served. The newspaper was community.

THIS MAKES ME UNBELIEVABLY SAD!!! I got my start at the Chaska Herald and it provided me the opportunity to cover city, edu, county, crime and every other beat a hyper local newspaper has!!! I learned how to copy edit and every single step it took to publish a paper. #mn #chaska

The Chanhassen Villager was my first job out of college. It was not perfect, but it taught me so much, including the importance of hyperlocal news in a community. This is such a loss.
