For those hating on student freedom fighters:

Why do you care more about how young people are taking action than people dying in Gaza?

Why do you care more about how young people are taking up public space than how they’re being injured by police violence?

In his letter from Birmingham Jail, Martin Luther King, Jr., told us the white moderate “is more devoted to ‘order’ than to justice” and said this is someone who “prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice.”

This was not like this until the cops came and destroyed things. Everywhere they go, it’s violence and destruction.

Just an FYI for people referencing the Civil Rights Movement as the ideal and legal means of protesting, students sitting in at lunch counters, in movie theaters, in bus terminals and marching in public parks were violating laws and ordinances and agents of the state were also…

Just so everyone is clear about what’s going on - yesterday, UCLA allowed nonviolent student protesters to be attacked & beaten for hours by pro-Israel mobs while police watched. Now that the pro-Israel thugs have left, LAPD are violently arresting the student protesters.

To the USC and UCLA students protesting the atrocities in Gaza, you are on the right side of history.

I am sorry your administration & elected leaders, who should be protecting you, have harmed & failed you.

As history has shown, protesting injustice is always the right to do.

Thank you for centering Gaza Eunisses Hernandez. Hope to see other politicians follow suit and not just stick to the politically safe move of condemning police violence. This is the time for courage, and the movement will have your back.
