Feminist solidarity is not a crime.

Today, Egyptian women gathered to participate in a feminist stand outside of the UN Women Arabic office in solidarity with the women of Sudan and Gaza.

In response, Egyptian authorities arrested a number of participants, including the author of this tweet, Lobna Darwish of المبادرة المصرية للحقوق الشخصية.

Top US university campuses, including Yale, NYU & Columbia, are on edge amid arrests of pro-Palestinian demonstrators on Monday.

Of those arrested was NYU Associate Professor & world-renowned novelist Sinan Antoon, along with other faculty & students.

AlFashir is already on the brink of famine. And civilians, some displaced multiple times, have nowhere else safe in Darfur. With nothing in place to stop it, all-out war there is a clear disaster.

Yesterday, Hemedti’s Arab rival Musa Hilal allied with the army, but didn’t commit to fighting in Al-Fashir.

Meanwhile, Chad’s Zaghawa are expected to come to the aid of Minnawi and Jibril’s forces, and others could be drawn in if ethnic attacks continue.

Earlier this month, the RSF took nearby Melit, besieging alFashir. They also attacked 11 villages, and survivors report attackers using ethnic insults.

SLMMM/JEM said they would fight with the army, and that the best defense was to attack. We saw more skirmishes and airstrikes.

The relative peace meant 500k people sought refuge in alFashir from other areas. The city is packed with civilians.

Army soldiers from elsewhere in Darfur has come there too, and armed groups are deployed across the city. RSF is in the eastern areas. It’s packed with soldiers.

Following the passing of the “Safety of Rwanda” Act by the UK, UN leaders have sounded the alarm on the harmful impact it will have on global responsibility sharing, human rights and refugee protection.
