It's not that the West is getting dumber per se. I think there are still a lot intelligent people out there. The issue imo is that wisdom is seriously lacking - the ability to grasp the human condition. The integration of knowledge, experience and deep understanding.

Those who are seem keen to predict the demise of the Church of England wouldn’t have been happy in Rye this morning - the church was full of people and full of joy. Soz.
