Looking for ways to streamline text? In most cases you can easily cut phrases like “I saw,” “she glanced,” etc. Ex: I saw the girl carve a letter “G” on her desk. ➡️The girl carved a letter “G” on her desk. (We know the protagonist witnessed the act.)

Literary agent friends! If you are open to picture book author-only submissions, let me know! I’ve been seeing a lot of amazing projects cross my desk lately and would love to offer referrals for some of those top tier submissions. 🫶🏻

Don't panic! The webinar is actually less than 10 days away, and you still can sign up. (And, I still have slides to add, so I'll keep tweaking until we go live!)

Sometimes change can be scary. As a teacher I see many reasons students have moved. Some had to leave their country without any of their personal things due to war. My heart goes out to them. My prayer - When things are hard, remember there is hope. <3

Always fun to see what fun flower creations some coffee filters, markers, and a little water from a spray bottle will make.

Use an outline to create the bones of your story. Even if you like to write by the seat of your pants first, try outlining as you draft, so you have a tool to keep your MS grounded. Then, as you write/revise, you might not get stuck, not knowing what to write next…

Each plot point creates a domino effect. When choosing between possible outcome, list the consequences and how a character might feel about various decisions/actions. Which set makes for a more suspenseful, unexpected story twist?

Anyone have a favorite place for creating websites? I either have to upgrade to keep mine so might be a time to hear about other places before I decide.

Stuck on a plot point? Try brainstorming three possible outcomes, staring with the expected. Then brainstorm a possibility that might surprise the reader, but also make sense, given the character's feelings. Choose one that creates the most drama.

Revision is a ✨necessary✨part of the writing process.

Every story goes through revision, which can be thought of as an evolution and elevation. Not merely a rewriting of words, but a true re-visioning of the story.
