This afternoon I moved a motion to extend free bus travel to people seeking asylum in Scotland.

I was grateful to be joined in the gallery by The VOICES Network 🧡 & Maryhill Integration Network who have championed this.

The framework for free bus travel is in place and can be easily extended.

It is great to have cross-party support from my parliamentary colleagues and civic society for this compassionate act.

For such small change, it would make a huge difference.

On day 4 of #ChallengePoverty Week the focus is on affordable transport for everyone. Through our work with faith groups, we've called in particular for the provision of free bus transport for people seeking asylum in Scotland, so they can participate fully in community life.
