Maybe finally dawning on Scottish Government that it has taken all of the responsibility but has little authority to achieve any meaningful change in Scotland. Time to stop pretending that any devolved administration can have a significant positive impact on climate. scotonomics.scot/policy/just-tr…

I think about this quote a lot. And then I attempt to exist in society that tries to steal more & more of the future and believes/pretends it’s a good thing.

Latest column in the The National arguing the independence cause is declining in salience, needs a long period of intellectual rejuvenation and to ask the hard questions. Lots of good comments in response. Debate and disagreement welcome.

It’s fairly straightforward, the longer we leave it, the worse it’s going to get and the harder it will be to fix.

Trading with your largest neighbour in a foreign currency. What a disaster! How would America/Canada/UK/Japan/Australia/New Zealand etc, etc, cope? Fine, as there is strength in using your own currency. Staying in the union is only marginally worse than using £ when indy again.

When you know that tax doesn't fund government services (it just accounts for them) you can focus more clearly on the damage that inequality does to our society. And say BYE BYE to the super wealthy who do not want to contribute to a cohesive society.
