One year ago today, American Olympic sprinter Frentorish “Tori” Bowie died at 32 years old from complications of childbirth.

She was a three-time Olympic medalist and two-time world champion, whose impact on the sport was immeasurable.

Today we honor Gordon Hirabayashi, born #OTD in 1918.

Hirabayashi was imprisoned after defying the federal government’s internment of more than 100,000 Japanese-Americans during World War II.

Justice was served when the Supreme Court overturned his conviction 45 years later. 🙌🏽

We’re celebrating #WorldArtDay with some billboards from our 2020 partnership with Goldman Global Arts.

Disenfranchising voters who have been incarcerated is a long standing voter suppression tactic.

With the bill Nebraska lawmakers passed last week, THOUSANDS of Nebraskans are one step closer to having their voting rights more easily restored. 🙌🏽🗳️

On April 15, 1947, Jackie Robinson became the first Black player in Major League Baseball’s modern era, ending more than 50 years of segregation in the league.

He went on to become one of the most iconic baseball players in history.

Today marks the 77th anniversary of Mendez v. Westminster School District (1947) — the first case of school segregation being successfully challenged in federal court.

This decision paved the way for the landmark Brown v. Board of Education decision less than ten years later. 🙌🏽
