We don’t just need Black politicians who look like us. We need Black politicians committed to serving us, investing in us, hearing us. We don’t need to put a Black face on the same policies that have been hurting us for generations. We need TRUE representation.

The questions should be

Why are more children distressed?
What can we do to help regulate them?
How do we make schools emotionally safe places? Etc etc

If we start asking the right questions we won’t need to restrain them
