I'm absolutely over the moon with encountering the simply stunning Mountain Melick (Melica nutans). A species I've never actually found in flower before, & top of my most wanted to see grasses! 🤩🥹🤗 Andrew Painting ID

I'm repeat my upland tree transects at , as part of our Ecosystem Health Indicators. I don't need to run statistical tests to know there's a huge increase in tree height over four years in the plots I've done so far. It's just so obvious! 🤗🥳🌳

The synergy between beavers and the aspen tree reminds us that nature recovery can't be achieved one species at a time. Discover how these two native species could complement one another's comeback: scotlandbigpicture.com/photo-stories/…

Great to have TreeSurv back planting a further 4500 montane willows in Coire Sputan Dearg as our efforts to restore montane willow habitat continue. Challenging terrain but hopefully a full of life regenerating downy willow patch in the future topped with a ring ouzel.

Dwarf birch goals today, with a patch of bushes growing waist high in places! A nice illustration of what is possible in Scotland, and a tantalising glimpse into what could become some truly exceptional habitat in the fullness of time!

How wonderful!! The first ever seed has been produced from our seed stand at ! I expect to see much, much more of this in the years to come, from which to upscale production of this scarce species for habitat projects.
